Do you remember the last time we talked about the
minor races of
Guild Wars 2? Well that was some months ago, but yesterday one of the most aspiring writers in the
video game industry miss
Ree Soesbee offered us a brand new blog post
regarding one of these, the Jotun.
The
Jotun were first introduced in the “Eye of the North” expansion of
the original Guild Wars. Although their role there was just fulfilling
the need to kill, it seems like we are going to learn more about the
background of these prideful giants in Guild Wars 2. There’s not much
more to say without spoiling the blog post, so I’ll leave you with some
words of the actual storyteller.

The jotun (pronounced JŌ-tun)
are the last remnants of an ancient society of giants. Once powerful,
advanced, and arrogant, they proclaimed themselves rulers of the
Shiverpeak Mountains and raised great monuments to themselves on the
highest peaks. Their leaders, known as giant-kings, were tremendously
powerful beings, as skilled in feats of strength as they were in magic
and lore. |
