In the aftermath of the first (open*) beta which took place between April 27-30, I would like to underline some character levels that are considered as ‘milestones’ in the game. Or, to put it another way, they constitute a source of extra enthusiasm for gaining a new level! Although we do not believe that you can reach the level cap (80) during the BWE days, we also understand that we are addressing people who like to look optimistically towards the future and this is precisely why our table reaches that far : )

By merging the Rift Events of... Rift and the Public Quests of Warhammer Online, Guild Wars 2 arrives to bring us the open world Dynamic Events.

Dynamic Events replace today's arduous and boring quests and introduce a dynamic element in the world of Tyria, making the players accountable of what is happening to the enviroment. Furthermore, if you think that by bringing your friends along you're going to steamroll your progress through Guild Wars 2 you are heavily deceived.

I will try to present this mechanic to all of those people who are new to the world of Guild Wars 2, by employing only a few examples.

As promised, today I will present my in-game experience from Guild Wars 2 during the European Fan Day event. This event took place in Brighton, UK, between April 2-3 and as you already know Dragon Season was there to cover it.

During this two-day period we had the opportunity to get in touch with many of the game’s aspects. We got to live a part of our character’s Personal Story, participated in a few Dynamic Events, experienced the magic the game’s Dungeons have to offer and combated one another during a couple of Structured PvP sessions.

A couple of days ago we were invited by ArenaNet and NCsoft to attend their Guild Wars 2 European Fan Day. Our own Tilion was present in Brighton, England where he got the chance to take part in a Q&A with the developers of the game. Lots of different questions were asked and several interesting answers were given.

Today, we are going to present you a transcript of that Q&A. We would like to thank Dutch Sunshine of GuildMag and Tasha Darke of Attached to Keyboard for permitting us to use it, as they are the ones who did the whole work. If you have not visited their respective websites, be sure to do so. The reason that we posted the transcript here as well is to mainly let everyone know about the content of the Q&A, but also to translate it for the Greek community.

A Massively Multiplayer Online Game's primary ingredient is its community. Without it, the game itself would simply cease to exist. This is a simple fact that ArenaNet, creator of Guild Wars 2, seems to know only so well. All of its game's mechanics promote a community bound with powerful bonds. But is this sufficient enough? Does the experience gained from playing the game suffice?

Last Monday and Tuesday (2-3, April) DragonSeason.com was selected to attend, along with another 25 members of the European community, the first ever "EU Fan Day" held by ArenaNet in association with NCSoft, in Brighton, UK. We met new people, got in touch with the game's developers and, naturally, had a firsthand taste of Guild Wars 2. Today's article may seem to be a little more than a tourist guide; this is not what it is about though. Everything we lived in the game, bar some elements which are still covered by the NDA, will be laid out for you in an upcoming article soon to follow.

We are very happy to announce that we are going to take part in ArenaNet's European Fan Day this coming Monday. I'll attend the event in person in Brighton, England where I'm going to play the game and get in touch with a lot of developers.

I'm expecting lots of questions and proposals in this thread over here! :D

Your questions will be asked to the following developers:
Eric Flannum (Lead Game Designer), Colin Johanson (Lead Content Designer), Ree Soesbee (Writer and Lore & Continuity Designer), Kristen Perry (Character Artist) and Josh Petrie (Tools Developer)

Guild Wars 2 is coming.

This is no news, at least to the majority of you. Reason I'm saying it, however, is because I know you love to hear it again and again, same way I love to hear it too! I'm also saying it for one more reason: are you ready for it? Are you truly prepared for its coming?

Imagine yourselves on that blessed day when installation on your hard disk is complete... You double-click on its icon, a few seconds later the splash screen comes up, Jeremy Soule's epic music begins, the chill, the awe, the splash screen goes and is replaced by the login screen... With trembling hands you enter your account's details and press OK...
