The tradition of the Dragon Festival originates back in the era of Guild Wars 1. It was a time where people used to worship Dragons, be it by organizing spectacular activities or by bringing to life marvelous spectacles. So magnificent the whole custom was, that everyone throughout Tyria could be heard discussing about it. Such times though, have come and gone... Dragons these days have left their lair and haunt our dreams. We cannot celebrate about them anymore. It’s either us or them now.
Dragon Festival has been transformed this time around, into a totally different holiday. Summer is about to kick-off coming Tuesday (June 11) with Dragon Bash, a celebration for all of those aspiring dragon hunters who roam across the lands of Tyria.

I would say that players can be rather demanding from time to time when it comes to asking for additional content. Especially, when you have to do with an MMO title that does not follow the traditional subscription-based model. Isn’t it a bit odd when a developer shows up saying, “Well, you see, we can provide you with a free content update each month”. And then, what if that same developer makes an appearance once again, claiming that the players deserve even more, thus they have to double their releases. I wonder, isn't this how a developer should be making a stand?
It’s been a couple of days since we had a patch for Guild Wars 2, yet yesterday another one was released. “Last Stand” is here to conclude the multi-staged narrative taking place on the tropical paradise of Southsun Cove.

Ever since the players set foot on Southsun Cove back in November 2012, they were amazed by its beautiful sceneries. The inhabitants of the island, the fearsome Karka, have made a name for themselves, be it either with their peculiar appearance or with their pretty annoying, yet challenging, skillset. One thing was for sure though, this tropical paradise was lacking of a very important factor, content.
Utilizing the Living World concept, the developer team pays a visit to this certain corner of Tyria, once again, with the upcoming release, called “The Secret of Southsun”. The patch, which is to hit our clients tomorrow, will revise certain parts of the island, while presenting a short story that takes place on top of it.

“The time has come to avenge those who lost their lives, to lead their spirits back home. It is the time to hunt those blindfolded beasts down, back to their nest. We shall chase each and every last one of them! We shall spit over their lifeless boiling bodies for Retribution!”
April has come and gone, waving us goodbye with yet another Guild Wars 2 release. The polishing cycle is almost over, as this update introduces us to some of the last few required features that Colin Johanson mentioned a couple of months ago. In addition to this, a new dungeon will open its’ gates today and although it will be in game for a limited time only, it is promised to come along with some brand new rewards.

After
spending 2 (evenings) by 3 hours in ‘The
Box’, I realized that having fun –which I did! Immensely, too- and
collecting accolades –aka achievements- were two separate and in most aspects
incompatible things. So I turned to my favorite source of guides and
information to see what I’d been doing wrong. As it turned out, quite
a few things. Here’s a step-by-step
walkthrough of World 1 then, carefully compiled in a way that minimizes the
time required to unlock all 17 achievements and get the treasured Title.
Enjoy!

Ever since the glorious times of the original Guild Wars, ArenaNet had laid the foundations for a very sweet tradition. April Fools’ had always been a day to look forward to, a day full of unique in-game interactions to bury yourself into. This time around you can expect an 8-bit 3D world, fully implemented inside Guild Wars 2. No joke there... I can assure you that this is going to blow you away!
I don’t want to spoil too much, because everything that went into the game today is just pure fun. Don’t waste any more time! Go there now, even though the Super Adventure Box is going to stick around for the remainder of April. Head over to Rata Sum and join the bauble train!

I remember a discussion I had once, on whether or not MMOs are able to feel alive. Imagine a World that changes around you. A World that introduces you, every other day that goes by, to new adventures, new stories to lose yourself into. A brand new World.
Well, such a dream is about to go live tomorrow, along with a list of brand new features to pick from. For me, though, culling something out of that list isn’t an easy task.
Introducing you to “The Razing”, the third chapter of the “Flame and Frost” saga.
