Goodbye Guild Wars 2 (Updated)

I’d like to keep this announcement short.

That is, most of all, because I’m the kind of person that tends to get rather emotional when the time comes for farewells.

Dragon Season’s staff came together a couple of days ago to discuss our future plans. The decision was mutual. We resolved to move the guild back to Guild Wars 1 and repurpose our fan site so that it caters more to the needs of those that deal with the first title of the franchise.

Guild Wars 2 was a great game to experience for us all, although with a mediocre Season 1 of the Living Story coming to an end, we couldn’t help but foresee a game that does not live up to our expectations. Apparently, there’s no expansion in sight and all the feature pack related announcements have only been, so far, a great disappointment.

So, that’s it folks. I hope you all stick around and poke us on the social media for a quick chat, when you feel up to it. It would be really sad to lose touch with you guys.

Thank you for your support all these years.

Signing off,

Tilion

P.S.: Sometimes you have to stick with the past if you want to live a better future.

Happy April Fools' Day!

Re: Goodbye Guild Wars 2

You know what I like best about this? I finally get to level my dervish. I loved her and yet, she's still stuck at level 17. :( - And let's not forget I haven't even finished Prophecies. :p Everything else is done, but not the original campaign. Now that I've seen the future, it's time to explore the past! Maybe then I'll understand why some dislike the charr that much... ;)

Re: Goodbye Guild Wars 2

I would love to get back into GW1. My guild fell apart after 2 came out. Most either moved to other games or stopped playing all together.

Yeah, I can't say I hadn't seen this coming. Actually the decision was unanimous amongst the Council members. GW2 is a great game but GW1 is... pure magic!
I just can't wait to go back and level my beloved Ranger! He's stuck at level 20 for so many years...

Re: Goodbye Guild Wars 2

This is great. Guild Wars 1 was so much easier on my graphics card. And who needs to be able to jump anyway?
