Character Creation Guide - the Noob Edition!

Guild Wars 2 is coming.
This is no news, at least to the majority of you. Reason I'm saying it, however, is because I know you love to hear it again and again, same way I love to hear it too! I'm also saying it for one more reason: are you ready for it? Are you truly prepared for its coming?
Imagine yourselves on that blessed day when installation on your hard disk is complete... You double-click on its icon, a few seconds later the splash screen comes up, Jeremy Soule's
epic music begins, the chill, the awe, the splash screen goes and is replaced by the login screen... With trembling hands you enter your account's details and press OK...
A few more agonizing seconds pass by...
And then comes the moment when you must create your first character!
Are you ready for this?
Are you sure you are ABSOLUTELY prepared for this test???
Alright then, alright. You can very well skip reading through this guide. Besides, it is only addressed to the uninitiated, who do not know what the
ten steps of character creation in Guild Wars 2 involve, nor the number of
choices present, or the things that they can do even
as early as now so that they are ready as they can be when that day comes. You know all this stuff, so what do you care what I have to say?
Step 1/10 : Select Race
Answer the
following question:
What do you
like best:
(a) Animals
(b) Plants
(c) Jar Jar Binks
(d) Vikings
(e) all the above
The Race
that best suits you is, respectively:
(a) Charr,
(b) Sylvari, (c) Asura, (d) Norn, (e) Human.
Step 2/10 : Select Gender
If you like
your avatar to be the macho projection of your character in the game, then you
will probably choose your real gender. If you like getting … turned on by gazing at your avatar,
then you’ll likely be going for the opposite gender. In any case, please have a look at the vocabulary entries for ‘narcissism’ and ‘fetishism’.
Step 3/10 : Select Profession
Simply
(re-)read our EXCITING series of profession presentations! If this doesn’t
help, see it from the opposite end: since no matter which one you choose
you will always be able to do anything in the game (no Holy Trinity, remember?), check out what skills you will have at your
disposal and create your dream-builds with the aid of the amazing tools by Luna-Atra and GW2 Tools and then make your choice.
Step 4/10 : Select Appearance
The options
here are so many that can bring even the bravest to tears… If you should find yourselves indecisive and buffled, use these two links below. It is my strong
belief that they will be of unimaginable – and imaginative!- help.
(a) Discover the celebrity hidden inside you
(b) Discover the face behind the name
Steps 5-9 : Biography questions
Unfortunately,
we cannot be of any assistance here. But even if we could, we wouldn’t! We do
not wish to be held responsible for your evolution inside the game, your
future, your kismet, your public relations, your posthumous fame, etc. It is YOUR story!
Step 10/10 : Select Name
The choices
here are numerous indeed. You may pick a name that’s familiar and loved to you,
like your own or your dog’s. Or you may select the name of your original Guild
Wars’ character, since it is reserved for you anyway. Or that of a favourite hero of yours – from a comix book, a movie, a book, a dream… If nothing springs
to mind, then I do not think you can find a better guide that this marvellous
thread of the GW2 Guru forum!

I know what profession I'll be.. just not sure of the race. Terrible terrible decisions! Though I have to ask, is a female character really a "macho" projection of me? Tuttut ;)
